How to specify a repair
The more of this you have, the faster the quote.
What actually helps
Most delays in quoting a repair come from missing information rather than difficult work. None of the below is mandatory — send what you have and we will ask about the rest — but each one saves a round trip.
Send if you have it
- A drawing, with the finished dimension you need
- The specification called out on the print — if it says AMS-QQ-C-320, tell us, it is cancelled
- What the part does and how it failed
- The substrate material
- How much material is gone, if you have measured it
- Quantity, and whether this is research, prototype or production
- Whether the part is flying — that changes the paperwork
If you do not have a drawing
Send a photograph and the dimensions you can measure. Reverse engineering an obsolete component is ordinary work here — we have been repairing parts since 1945, which covers a lot of equipment that no longer has drawings in circulation.
